How long have you done Tai Chi?

1. What do you enjoy about the Tai Chi class?

It is an excellent exercise to make you fell completely relaxed. The friendly atmosphere. All in all ALL.

2. Have you noticed any benefits to your health and well being since doing Tai Chi?

I have definitely noticed an improvement in my asthma + joint flexibility. My cholestral level has dropped from 5.9 to 5.1 without medication.

3. Any other comments:

Carry on the good work Xianglin. I am sure your class will go from strength to strength.

1. The exercise, breathing and social aspect also my hiatus hernia has vastly improved and I don't need medication .

2. Asbolutley move better, more supply, relaxing.

3. I am very happy to be attending both classes. I like the teaching style and am recently learning more about Qigong and Ba Duan Jin at one of Dr Li's new classes which is a new shant on this type of exercise.

1. I love the wonderful feeling of peace and relaxation that you get with Tai Chi. It allows you to have some space for yourself and 'leave everything behind' I am fairly new to the Ashton group but I was surprised at the warm welcome I received from other group members on my first day, they really made me feel at home. My instructor is excellent and has a lovely sense of humour - I am so glad I joined this class.
2. Benefits: My blood pressure has improved a lot and I feel so much better than I did before I started the class. I practised Yang style Tai Chi for 3 years but had not attended classes for about 18 months due to heart problems so I was getting a bit like a couch potato!


3. Other comments: None really - except to reiterate my previous comments about being so glad I joined this class.....lovely people, lovely instructor - who could ask for anything better?

1. What do you enjoy about the Tai Chi class?

I enjoy the opportunity of taking part in physical exercise, whilst staying in my own limits,as part of a group exercise. It leaves me with a sense of well being and calmness.

2. Have you noticed any benefits to your health and well being since doing Tai Chi?

Having experienced pins and needles in my arm for sometime. I found that after serval classes of Tai Chi I notice a difference. It has now gone completely.

1. What do you enjoy about the Tai Chi class?

It is so absorbing of mind, body and spirit that it excludes everything else and leaves me with a feeling of calmness, happiness and confidence. Xianglin is a patient, gentle teacher of obvious skill.

2. Have you noticed any benefits to your health and well being since doing Tai Chi?

Improved breathing, flexibility and stamina. Also feel calm, happier and more confident, improved circulation.

3. Any other comments:

Much more enjoyable and purposeful than exercising in a gym. Very helpful for anyone coping with depression.

1. It is a point in the middle of the week (Wednesday afternoons) when for an hour, I do something completely different, exercise without exhaustion!.

2. Yes, it keeps me supple (I'm 65) and aids my relaxation. I feel that muscles are being gently put to use that otherwise would remain dormant.

3. This "total workout" approach allows me to become completely absorbed and relaxed at one-and-same time. For me, drawing, prayer and meditation fullfil the same role.

The stretching, the gentle fluid movements.

Good group atmosphere - supportive Xianglin very nice helpful teacher.

1. What do you enjoy about the Tai Chi class?

Relaxation, fluid movement, music and its company, everyone iis friendly and helpful, especially Xianglin who is very gentle and patient with everyone. Keep up the good work Xianglin, you are a very special teacher.

2. Have you noticed any benefits to your health and well being since doing Tai Chi?

Most definitely I feel at least twenty years younger, having so much more energy, better balance, more supple, more relaxed and also much stronger. Tai Chi also helps me deal with everyday problems in a more relaxed and better way.

3. Any other comments:

Xianglin is an excellent teacher, always knowing what is best for us.
Would like to learn the 83 form.
Applications for the 18 form.
Would also like to do more Qigong
Classes should be longer.

I enjoy the warm up, the silk reeling exercises and the Tai Chi form. I enjoy having a time for myself and I enjoy being the learner/pupil not the teacher.

It helps me to relax. It relaxes my back and shoulders that get from tense working (as a teacher). Also Tai Chi helps me to be calm, focussed and it re-energises me - it's Great.

How long: 4 years

What enjoyed: The Chi Kung and meditation is amazing...stress and tension just melt away. Wonderful feeling of calmness and relaxedness yet charged with energy! You meet some nice people as well.

Benefits: Long standing lower back problems have all but disappeared. Shoulder problems much improved and general flexibility and movement much more supple. Legs get strong and depressive moods much lessened

Other comments: It just gets more and more interesting as you get more in touch with your body and feelings...the energy feelings get stronger and you just want to explore the whole thing much more.
