Class details

Title: Chen Tai Chi 74 Form (or called Laojia Yi Lu)
Details: In this class we are going to teach Warm-up exercies, Silk Reeling Energy, some Qigong exercises and Chen Style Tai Chi Old Frame One (or Lao Jia Yi Lu in Chinese) 74 Long Form, where the Form was created by Chen Changxing, the 14th generation successor of Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan family. This style is characterized as soft, low and stable movements. The softness goes through the whole Form but combined with the hardness. The frame stretch is generous, the footwork is light and steady, the body is natural and the inner strength/engery leads the whole body, where the twisted silk reeling engery is the core, and the waist is axis, and then engery goes through from one part to another or called one-by-one to reach the entire body. It takes ward-off forward up, stroking backward down, squeezing forward and pressing down as the four main methods, and draging down instantly, spliting horizontially, elbow striking, and any part collision with opponent as four supplmented methods. There is nothing moving if static, but everything is moving while moving; movements are like flowing clouds and running water continually rolling, and when releasing engery, it comes out instantly and powerfully like a united unit.

That's the reason why it is called new Frame. Comparing to the Old one, this New Frame has the features of higher posture/ position, flexible movements and more silk reeling energy included. Details:The Tai Chi 11 Form was a simplified Chen Style Short Form, where the movements are coming from the authentic Chen Style Tai Chi Old Frame or Laojia Yi Lu. The Tai Chi 11 is short, easy to follow, and easy to learn making it excellent for beginners and people who have limited time. Yet despite its simplicity the form does not compromise any of the principles that have made the practice of Tai Chi famous throughout the world.
